CUSTOMER INFORMATION
Privacy & Data Protection Policy
How Rose Safaris Africa collects, uses, protects and shares personal information when providing travel services.
1. Information we collect
We may collect names, email addresses, telephone numbers, country of residence, travel dates, traveller preferences, journey requests, booking information, communications, payment transaction references and information needed to arrange requested travel services. We do not intentionally store full payment-card details on our website.
2. Why we use information
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, prepare quotations, create and administer bookings, process or reconcile payments, coordinate suppliers, provide customer support, send transactional communications, maintain records and meet legal or operational obligations.
3. Lawful processing
Depending on the purpose, processing may be necessary to take steps at the customer's request before entering a contract, perform a contract, comply with a legal obligation, protect vital interests, or pursue a legitimate interest that does not override applicable privacy rights. Where consent is required, we will seek it in an appropriate manner.
4. Sharing with service providers
Relevant information may be shared with accommodation providers, transport providers, guides, activity operators, payment providers, email providers, technology providers and other suppliers where reasonably necessary to provide or administer the journey. We aim to limit disclosures to information relevant to the service being provided.
5. International processing
Some technology or travel-service providers may process information outside Kenya. Where personal data is transferred outside Kenya, Rose Safaris Africa will apply the safeguards and legal requirements applicable to that transfer.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. No internet-based system can guarantee absolute security.
7. Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including booking administration, customer support, accounting, legal obligations, dispute resolution and legitimate business record-keeping. Retention periods may vary by record type.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law and any lawful limitations, you may request information about processing, access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate information, deletion where applicable, restriction or objection to certain processing, and other rights available under Kenyan data-protection law.
9. Marketing communications
Transactional messages relating to enquiries, quotes, bookings, payments and service changes may be sent when necessary to provide the service. Marketing communications will be handled in accordance with applicable consent and opt-out requirements.
10. Privacy requests and complaints
Privacy requests can be sent to [email protected]. Please provide enough information for us to identify the relevant account or booking. You may also have the right to complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya.
This policy should be kept aligned with Rose Safaris Africa's actual data processors, retention schedule, cross-border transfer arrangements and internal data-protection procedures.
